The brutal answer….the standard drops. We’re already seeing this in some ways, such as the “Thanksgiving Food Cost” getting cut down, and substituting store brand for name brands.

They riot, and then the President essentially declares martial law using the military. This is also why they are attacking the ACA and healthcare, it is to directly drive more people into poverty to ignite social unrest and chaos.
Once the military is deployed to contain the chaos, it will then also routinely be deployed to stop protests, and subdue events/organizations that are challenging the administration.
This is textbook authoritarianism, and is well documented as the plan in Project 2025. Authored by Russell Vought, current FCC chairman, and one of the most “Nazi’ish” mother fuckers you will ever meet. (He’s currently working hard to dismantle the free press as FCC chair, and he’s the one threatening CBS and late night hosts when they say shit that upsets the orange pedo.)
And then the democracy will be dead, and the great American experiment will come to an end. Just to die and lose to the very forces it was designed to protect, consolidation of power, and the evil men who seek it. The downfall will likely be full of war and violence. Certainly abroad, but probably domestically too.

Rebellion. Bloody, bloody rebellion. Historically, the number of unemployed young men is a key trigger for social revolution. If you make enough young men feel desperate they’re willing to fight. These days with many women also in the workforce, unemployment generally will be the trigger, as well as under-employment. Nothing fights more fiercely than a cornered animal with no means of escape.

Subscription based services. Can’t afford to rent an apartment month to month? You can rent a room by the hour. Best part is you don’t need to sign a contract anymore.
But for real though. I can see companies getting creative and developing a subscription based system. Things will become unaffordable for low and moderate income families.

This is a very real threat and has been getting worse over time. The problem is people listen to those with seemingly unlimited wealth, power, and influence. Even the data is inaccurate. Employment numbers reflect the number of people who are collecting unemployment insurance. That has an end date and people who were on unemployment are still unemployed with no active income. This is worse than covid times. People back then lost jobs due to lack of activity and business. Now it’s because AI has led “leadership” to believe they could replace humans with technology. The cascading impact is those people who lost jobs are no longer contributing to stimulating the economy by dining out, shopping, or other activities that generate revenue. It has a trickle effect.

Labor wages will decrease significantly, welfare type programs increase significantly. Will be ugly for a bit but eventually you will have basic needs met, not enough given to build wealth though. Buy assets if you can now, that will be our best bet at supplementing whatever crumbs we are given and build wealth for a better chance at a sovereign life.
